When Gaming is your Game

The resident evil series is a huge horror based series, but in the last addition of resident evil, six Capcom decided to go for a first-person shooter type of game was that the right choice? Let’s Find Out.

When a company changes the genere of the game and in this case such a drastic change, the are many risks, and it usually doesn’t worth taking them.

The hardcore gamers will now need to face an environment of fast paced action a thing they probably are not looking for while the first-person shooter players will get the feeling the game is to buggy and slow for them.

The game itself although fun to try got is share of problems, Capcom went a little over board with the actions the player needs to take in every single short scene inside the game.

Tons of cutscenes happen while your inside the game totally stopping the feeling of the game and the story, instead giving the idea that you’re watching a Jams Bond movie with some interaction.

Unfortunately when moving from horror based game to an action based game the controls are a big issue no one wants to aim and shoot with nonfunctional controls even more when there are so many great other shooting games out there. This particular move Capcom failed to do and what we got left with is a clunky third person shooter.

Can a none hardcore gamer enjoy the game, basically my answer is not really but if you really like stories you might enjoy the story line of resident evil 6.

The hardcore horror gamers should focus on Leon’s campaign because that is the closest to the old playing style as they can get.

On the bright side, the infected killing part is at least still a lot of fun and with the extra new moves plus the old-style kick the head bashing is pretty fun.

Another great plus for the game is the return of the “Mercenary’s mode.”

Building tension and fear are a great thing when you are building a horror game but when you’re moving to the first-person shooter realm, it has nothing to do with the game.

Low scores on gamespot and many major gaming websites doesn’t predict resident evil a bright future.

Many old gamers were annoyed and felt betrayed but Capcom but will they mange to make this work or not only time will tell…
